“MPT-Plastic” plans to start production in the Kaluga SEZ

On February 15, within the framework of the Russian investment forum in Sochi an agreement was signed between the Kaluga Region and MPT-Plastic LLC. Signatures to the corresponding document were affixed by the Governor of the Kaluga Region Anatoly Artamonov and Lev Bray, CEO of the company “MPT-Plastic”.

The agreement provides for the construction of a factory that will produce technical hoses made of PVC plastic on the territory of the SEZ of the industrial-production type “Kaluga”. The company selected a SEZ site with an area of 2 hectares located in the Borovsky District.

It’s projected that the investment volume will be about 120 million rubles and the planned number of new jobs will be about 50.

It is planned to produce flexible PVC hoses which are used in various industries and in various features of agriculture.

The production will be carried out on modern Italian equipment. It will allow to replace imported hoses in some industries, in particular, in agricultural business (sowing and harvesting equipment, application of chemical and mineral fertilizers, milking units) and industry.

PVC hoses will be in particular demand in the food industry for pumping mineral water, juices, dairy products, vegetable oils and alcoholic beverages. Also, hoses will be used in the wood-pulp and paper industry and hydraulic structures, in the transportation of bulk materials, air, gases and deleterious substances.

The Kaluga SEZ is located on two sites in the Borovsky District and in the Ludinovsky District and it is the closest industrial site of this type to Moscow. Its area is 1042 hectares. On the territory of the SEZ there are all regional advantages concerning access to engineering, transport and business infrastructure, as well as federal tax benefits and customs preferences. Industrial development within the framework of the SEZ will allow modernizing industrial production of the southern and northern territories of the Kaluga Region and providing conditions for the development of hi-tech sectors of industry.
