On June 1, 2016 new production lines were commissioned at Galen plant located in Kaluga Region (Vorsino industrial part). The new lines are to manufacture composite lighting poles and composite coil mesh for residential and road construction.  The official ceremony was attended by Mikhail Men, the Minister for Construction, Housing and Utility Infrastructure of the Russian Federation, Alexander Avdeev, Deputy Governor of Kaluga Region, Anatoly Chubais, Chairman of the Board, Rosnano OAO, Alexander Ruchiev, President, Morton Group, and Valery Gurinovich, Director General, Galen OOO.   

On June 1, 2016 Galen also concluded dealership agreements with Top Glass SpA, Italy, and Greenhill Commercial Ltd, UK. The agreements provide for marketing and sales of Galen products abroad.  

Galen is an innovative Russian company, manufacturing composite products for industrial, residential and road construction, mining and power industries. The company is a member of Morton Group.  

The plant located in Vorsino industrial park, Kaluga Region, manufactures THERMOBREAK fiberglass sections. Two new lines were added to produce composite lighting poles and composite coil mesh. The company applies state-of-the-art process solutions and has launched the production of innovative products featuring advanced properties. These products are made of composite nano modified materials. Rosnano OAO acts as a technology partner.   

Scope of production, 2016: THERMOBREAK composite window frames – up to 50,000 sq.m of windows / 24,000 windows, the amount sufficient for 20 single-entrance 9-storied buildings; composite lighting poles – 10,000 lighting poles per annum, the amount sufficient for a 200-km road lighting; ROCKMESH composite coil mesh – 1 million sq. m, the coil mesh will also be used  in road construction.

It has huge export potential. 20% of the company’s products will be sold in Russia, about 65% will be sold abroad, in Europe, and Asia. Currently negotiations on selling coil mesh for road construction to the USA and Malaysia are under way”.

The production facility located in Kaluga Region has an area of 6,000 sq. m. 127 new jobs have been created. Morton has invested RUR 700 million in Galen production facility in Vorsino industrial park.
