Full-Cycle Woodworking Production Facility Commissioned in Kaluga Region

On December 3, Soyuz-Center, Kaluga Multi-Purpose Woodworking Plant, part of Soyuz Industrial Group, opened new production line in Balabanovo. Production of wood particle and laminated boards was launched within the frame of final phase of investment project implementation Building of Wood Particle Board Plant, with production capacity of 150,000 m3 per year; volume of investments under this project exceeded RUR 3.5 bln.

Soyuz-Center, Kaluga Multi-Purpose Woodworking Plant OOO is a multi-purpose enterprise of federal level; its products are supplied to 39 regions of the Russian Federation, and to Germany, Belgium, France, Israel, India and other countries.

Soyuz-Center Plant is the successor of Experimental Balabanovo Match Factory. After large-scale modernization in 2014 году, the enterprise is implementing a number of investment projects ensuring full-cycle production, from tree-felling to final products. Комбинат производит wood particle boards, wood fiberboards, internal doors, timber, laminated lumber and  prefabricated sets of laminated lumber. The production is waste-free, all waste that is generated during production of timber and wood trim, is used in form of particles and powder for production of wood particle boards. Waste, which is useless for production, such as bark, is used for heat generation for process purposes and for heating buildings and facilities.

Additionally, Soyuz-Center Plant is a major logging operator and wood processor in Kaluga Region. Expected indicators for the current year: felling volume will exceed 350,000 m3, 3.43 mln. plants will be planted. Planned felling volume for 2019 will be more than 400,000 m3. The strategy of the plant is to ensure environment-friendly and socially responsible forest administration.         

The plant and its investment projects are of great importance both for the region and for the entire country. State support to the plant under Russian Government Decree No 3 is provided in form of subsidized interest rate for investment credit.

Currently, there are more 800 jobs created at the plant. Opening of new production line will provide jobs for more than 200 people.
