The figure was disclosed by the region’s Minister of Economic Development Ilya Veselov at the recent governmental meeting.
Growth was registered for most product categories, primarily, manufacturing of automobiles and automotive components, railway equipment, building materials, consumer electronics, chemicals, pet food and computers.
“Thus, we expect industrial manufacturing growth for the year to reach 4%, as previously forecasted”, said the Minister. Small business turnover reached 23.9 billion rubles, which represents 107% growth against the same period of last year.
According to the Russian Federal State Statistics Service, in January – December 2017, Kaluga Region held:
- 1st place in the Central Federal District and 1st place in Russia by manufacturing industry output per capita.
- 1st place in the Central Federal District and 8th place in Russia by industrial output per capita.
- 2nd place in the Central Federal District and 10th place in Russia by industrial production index.
