Kaluga Region Automotive Cluster Presentation in France

Automotive Industry in Russia workshop was held in Paris, France, on December 12, 2012.  Dmitry Abramov, Deputy Minister for Economic development of Kaluga Region  and the Head of Investment Directorate, took part in the event.

The workshop was attended by French automotive industry companies' CEOs as well as French and Russian businessmen.   

Dmitry Abramov spoke of Kaluga Region development model and then cluster policy promoting the automotive industry growth in the region. He mentioned the key OEMs operating in the region, namely Volkswagen, Volvo and PSA Peugeot Citroen Mitsubishi and noted that the increase in the degree of localization is one of the major objectives set by Kaluga Region Government.  

Dmitry Abramov said: "The increase in the amount of orders for auto components is a task of equally great importance. A decision to build an engine plant taken by Volkswagen enables us to attract suppliers of entirely new level".
