On January 18, 2013 Igor Shuvalov, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, was on a working visit to Kaluga Region.
Igor Shuvalov held a meeting in Kaluga Region Administration to discuss measures aimed at competition development in the pharmaceutical market.
During the visit Igor Shuvalov is to visit Stargorod, specialized temporary residence quarters for professionals employed by Kaluga and Kaluga Region companies. Apart from that he will also come to Kaluga international school where foreign specialists' children study together with young Kaluga residents.
The itinerary also includes visits to Grabtsevo airport (Kaluga) and a former air force base in Ermolino (Borovsk district). There are plans providing for its reconstruction, to build new commercial facilities and to turn it into a hub for low cost airlines operating in Russia.
At the end of the visit Igor Shuvalov is to come to Vorsino multimodal logistics center construction site. The new logistics facility is to fully satisfy the Kaluga Region companies' demand for cargo handling services, and attract new cargo flows coming to Moscow Region. Apart from that the project also provides for creation of a distribution center for transit cargos transported via Moscow from the western/eastern directions.
