Kaluga Region and Shaanxi Province: New Opportunities for Industry Cooperation

Kaluga Region delegation headed by Vladimir Popov, Kaluga Region Deputy Governor, is to take part in a presentation on opportunities of trade and economic cooperation between China (Shaanxi province) and Russia on August 15, 2018. China will be represented by Shaanxi province government officialsIn the course of negotiations the parties are to discuss promising areas for mutual cooperation within Kaluga Region industry clusters.  

An exhibition of exclusive products manufactured in Shaanxi is to be organized for the attendees. Liu Gochzhun, Chairman of the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province and Li Huei, the Chinese Ambassador to Russia, are to comment upon the exhibition.

Kaluga Region and China enjoy decades-long cooperation in the fields of trade, economy and investments. The turnover  of trade between Kaluga Region and China (including Taiwan and Hong Kong) equaled US$ 420.7 million in January-May 2018 (it grew by 40.4% year on year).

An agreement on cooperation in the field of trade, economy and culture was signed between the Government of Kaluga region and the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province on August 8, 2000.  

It is worth mentioning that Chinese automotive industry companies operate in Kaluga Region, namely Yapp Rus Automotive System producing car fuel systems and Fuyao Glass Industry Group, manufacturing glass. Apart from placing their production facilities in Kaluga Region Chinese companies also supply equipment for innovative plants of other companies in Kaluga Region, including   Lafarge Group production facility, the largest in Russia. Petra-Haihua was engaged in reconstruction of Kaluga International Airport runway.
