Ilya Veselov, Minister for Economic Development of Kaluga Region, held a meeting of the expert council of Kaluga special economic zone on July 12, 2019. Kaluga SEZ has two sites located in Lyudinovo and Borovsk districts.  

The meeting attendees voiced their support to three business plans for establishment of new production facilities. Two companies are to build their plants at Borovsk site. They are VAKTEK AO (a metal working machinery plant) and Naturel OOO (a perfumery and cosmetics factory).   Another project is to be implemented at Lyudnovo site.  Investpromstroi OOO is to build a grinding balls plant there.

The total amount of investmentS under these three project exceeds RUR 3 billion. About 450 new jobs are to be created.  

Currently, there are 18 residents in Kaluga SEZ.

Note:

The area of Kaluga special economic zone is 1,042 ha. SEZ residents enjoy benefits provided under the regional legislation granting access to  engineering, transport and business infrastructure, as well as benefits provided under the federal legislation and customs benefits.  SEZ industrial development is to help modernizing the industry of Kaluga Region’s southern and northern areas. Apart from that SEZ is to create preconditions for development of hi-tech industry sectors.
