Business Opportunities for French Companies in Kaluga Region

Kaluga Region Government delegation is to present business opportunities for French companies in Paris on March 6, 2019. The delegation headed by Anatoly Artamonov, Kaluga Region Governor, includes Violetta Komissarova, President, Chamber of Commerce of Kaluga Region, Nikolai Andreev, Director General, Agency for Regional Development of Kaluga Region, Stefan Perevalov, Director General, Agency for Business Development of Kaluga Region, Tatiana Kaledina, Director General, Agency for Tourism Development of Kaluga Region.   

Alexey Meshkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to France and the Principality of Monaco, will take part in the negotiations. Georges Chichmanov, Director General, L’Oreal ZAO, is to make a speech on localization experience and development of L’Oreal production facility in Kaluga Region.   

Kaluga Region views expansion and strengthening of international cooperation as a top priority. French business proves itself to be a reliable partner. French companies have invested in various industries in Kaluga Region, including pharmaceutical, automotive, construction industries, and logistics. The turnover between Kaluga Region and France grew by 4.6% in 2018 and exceeded US$189 million.

A number of investment projects of globally known French companies are being implemented in Kaluga Region, namely, PSMA Rus, an automotive industry JV established by PSA Peugeot Citroen and Mitsubishi Motors, production facilities of  Faurecia Group manufacturing automotive components. Lafarge cement plant was commissioned in May 2014. L’Oreal, a global major cosmetics manufacturer, operates a plant in Vorsino industrial park.  Kaluga Region also cooperates with  GEFCO, a provides of transportation and logistic service. The company is on the list of TOP 10 logistic companies of Europe.  

Total, a global leader in oil production and refining, operates a plant manufacturing automotive oils and lubricants in Vorsino industrial park.    

Kaluga Region also cooperates with France in the field of pharmaceuticals manufacturing. Kaluga pharmaceutical cluster is a member of Eurobiomed, the largest pharmaceutical cluster of France, which promotes joint projects in the field of development of diagnostics means.
