Kaluga region and Japan: Prospects of Cooperation in Aviation Industry

A delegation of Setouchi Holdings Inc. is to visit Kaluga Region on December 5, 2017. The company’s principal area of business is small aviation. The list of the visit’s objectives includes familiarization with Kaluga Region economic and investment potential, expansion of the existing areas of cooperation, establishment of new business contacts, including contacts in the aviation industry. The delegation consists of Kazuyuki Okada, President, Setouchi Holdings Inc., and Paul Branhem, Vice President, Quest Aircraft Company.

The agenda provides for  visits to Kaluga Region industrial parks, Vorsino and Grabtsevo, production facilities located in the mentioned industrial parks as well as Freight Village Vorsino, a multimodal transport and logistics center being a part of New Silk Road international logistics project serving economic interests of Russia, China, Republic of Korea and Eastern Europe countries. Apart from that the guests are to visit Kaluga International Airport.

Anatoly Artamonov, Kaluga Region Governor, had meetings with a number of Japanese statesmen during his visit to Japan on September 30 – October 3, 2017.  He met Shinzo Abe, Japanese Prime Minister, Koji Omi, Science and Technology in Society (STS) Forum Founder and Chairman,  Hirosige Sako, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Eity Hasegawa, Special Counsel to Prime Minister of Japan. Anatoly Artamonov  also held negotiations with Japanese business community, including TOKUSHUKAI MEDICAL GROUP, Quest Aircraft Company, Mitsubishi Motors Company, Mitsubishi Electric Company.

PSA Peugeot-Citroen and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (PCMA Rus OOO) joint investment automotive project is being implemented in Kaluga Region. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation holds a 30% share in the project.
