Witezslaw Piwonka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Czech Republic to the Russian Federation, visited Kaluga Region on August 22, 2019.  That was his first visit to the region after the appointment to the position of the head of the Czech Republic embassy in 2018.
The delegation included the head of the Economy Department of the embassy, top officials from Pardubice and Pardubice region and Czech companies’  top managers.
The Czech Republic delegation was accompanied by Vladimir Potyomkin, Kaluga Region Deputy Governor.   

The delegation visited Vorsino industrial park and Kaluga Special Economic Zone  administrative and business center.

Nikolay Andreev, Director General, Agency for Regional Development of Kaluga Region, mentioned in the presentation dedicated to Kaluga Region’s business and investment potential that Czeck companies played a major role in the functioning of Kaluga automotive cluster. He said: “The automotive cluster’s companies manufacture over 11% of all vehicles produced in Russia. Skoda Rapid manufactured in Kaluga is on the list of the most popular models”.  

Ambassador Witezslaw Powonka  noted that Kaluga Region was a recognized leader among Russian regions in terms of business environment. Witezslaw Powonka   said: “Success depends on the team. That is why we are here today”.

A Czech company’s manager said: “Cooperation is a serious matter for us. The delegation composition speaks for itself. We are sure that this two-day visit will result in specific agreements”.  

In the afternoon the delegation is to visit Anatoly Artamonov, Kaluga Region Governor.
