Labor Productivity Increase and Employment Support National Project Telemetriya NPO Shares its Best Practices with Specialists from Uzbekistan

On August 14, 2019 specialists from the Institute for Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Uzbekistani industrial companies visited Telemetriya NPO, Kaluga Region, a participant of Labor Productivity Increase and Employment Support National Project.

The visit objective was the following: to get an insight into the results of a project implemented in cooperation with the Federal Center for Competences, production improvement studies, and plans for Kaluga production facility’s improvement. The Kaluga company’s main business areas include manufacturing of automotive electronics (key products: Pandora car alarms and Pandect immobilizers), and LED lighting systems.

The company joined the national project in 2019. The Federal Center for Competences’ specialists came to the plant in March. Production of LED municipal lighting systems was selected as a pilot optimization project (the project’s share in the company’s revenue exceeds 13%).   

Project targets: production process time reduction from 23 to 12 days; shop inventory reduction from 472 to 236 lighting systems, reduction of the number of inconsistencies from 82,353 to 33, 000. Currently the company introduces measures aimed at pilot project’s successful implementation. In the future knowledge and skills based on lean production methods and practices will be introduced in other production processes. 

Andrey Petrunin, President of Pandora Corporation (Telemetriya NPO’s mother company) noted that the Federal Center  for Competences had developed methods and solutions, which were in line with the company’s ideology. He said: “That is why we work easily and efficiently. Our corporate culture is ready for the processes being introduced by the Federal Center  for Competences’ team”.
