On May 29, 2013 an official ceremony dedicated to commissioning of Metsä Tissue, a member of Metsä Group, was held in Vorsino industrial park, Kaluga Region. The company manufactures tissue and cooking paper.
The ceremony was attended by Hannu Himanen, Finnish ambassador to Russia, Mika Joukio, Metsä Tissue CEO, and Vladimir Potyomkin, Deputy Governor of Kaluga Region.
The investments in the project with the annual capacity of 30,000 t totaled EUR 10 million, 110 new jobs were created (production, logistics and office personnel). Metsä Tissue manufactures paper for household and industrial applications under Lambi, Mola and Katrin brands.
Hannu Himanen, extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Finland to the Russian Federation, said: “Metsä Tissue is one of the leading tissue producers in Europe. <…> Kaluga Region is famous for its favorable investment climate and positive attitude towards foreign companies. I would like to thank the Government of Kaluga Region and to extend personal thanks to Anatoly Artamonov for his active position and successful attraction of foreign investments to Kaluga Region and creation of new jobs”.
