On March, 25 the delegation from the Republic of Belarus visited Kaluga Region with a business trip. The mayor of the Minsk City, Andrey Shorets led the delegation. The purpose of the visit was to study the experience of Kaluga Region in the attraction of investments into the Region and our practice on the creation of new high-tech production facilities. The delegation also wanted to discuss all the possible ways of cooperation. In particular, they were interested in the machine-building and automotive industry, agriculture and building industry.

Within the meeting with the Governor of Kaluga Region, Anatoly Artamonov, the signing of the agreement on sister-cities relations between Kaluga and Minsk took place.

“We have a lot of fields for cooperation which have not been considered at this meeting. In particular, our enterprises can become the residents of the Special Economic Zone “Lyudinovo”.  Agriculture and wood-processing industry are also within the area of our mutual interests” – Andrey Shorets commented.

In his turn, Anatoly Artamonov underlined that the interaction will exist not only within the cities but also within the regions. “We are interested in the development of academic and cultural cooperation. But economics will remain the engine of our business relationships”- the head of the Region summed up.

The delegation from the Republic of Belarus visited a number of infrastructural projects of Kaluga Region, in particular, industrial parks with the enterprises located at their territories.
