On June 3, 2021, within the XXIV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Government of the Kaluga Region, the administration of the Borovskiy Municipal District, the Industrial Park Vorsino LLC, the Kaluga Region Development Corporation JSC and the Arkhbum Tissue Group LLC (part of the Pulp Mill Holding Group of Companies) signed an Agreement on the implementation of an investment project for the construction of the second and third lines of a plant for the production of sanitary and tissue paper and products from it.

The Agreement sets out the mutual rights and obligations of the parties so as to properly and timely implement the project, and to ensure a favorable and stable investment environment.

According to Irina Galakhova, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arkhbum Tissue Group LLC, and Alexander Tufanov, Director of the plant, who signed the Agreement for and on the behalf of the investor, the shareholder and the company’s management appreciate the activities of the Kaluga Region administration in creating a favorable investment environment in the region: “With the support of the regional authorities, we successfully built and launched the first line of Arkhbum Tissue Group”, the management of the plant noted. “We have presented our investment plans for the future, based on successful experience here, at SPIEF”.

Irina Galakhova said that the project for the construction of the second and third lines of Arkhbum Tissue Group is in active phase of its implementation. In late April 2021, the company and Valmet AB officially signed a contract for the supply of technological equipment for the paper machine No.2 (PM-2) with a capacity of 70 thousand tons of commercial products per year. Thanks to this, the output will double and reach 140 thousand tons per year. The commissioning of the second machine is scheduled for November 2022.

The total amount of investments in the implementation of the second and third lines of Arkhbum Tissue Group will amount to more than 20 billion rubles.

The third line of the plant will increase the capacity of Arkhbum Tissue Group up to 210 thousand tons per year. The number of employees will increase by 299 up to 685. The completion date of this project is the end of 2024.
