Kaluga region is one of the TOP-3 regions in terms of the effective implementation of the industrial policy in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation

A rating of the effective implementation of industrial policy in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation for 2020 was presented at INNOPROM. As of 2020, the Kaluga Region was one of the TOP-3 regions and took the 2nd place.

The efficiency rating was developed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia to analyze how regional industrial policy is being implemented, and to determine if the state support instruments applied are effective. According to the organizers, this will help determine the growth points of the regions and use state support measures more actively, making it possible not only to preserve the current level of industrial capacity, but to more accurately work out promising growth directions.

The first pilot rating has a four-blocks structure: the first is economic development of the region; the second is the region’s interaction with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Industrial Development Fund; the third is the regulatory framework of the region, regional measures of state support and development institutions; the fourth is the business activity of the region, youth policy, industrial tourism.

With its points accumulated over four blocks, the Kaluga Region was ranked the second best region. The Republic of Bashkortostan and the Tula region were the first and the third, respectively.
