Kaluga Residents Together with Volkswagen Group Rus Send VW Cars to Sochi
An official ceremony dedicated to shipment of the first batch of cars for Sochi 2014 fleet was held in Kaluga within the framework of Kaluga Day celebrations on August 31, 2013.
The event was to signify the role of Kaluga Region both as a major Russian automotive industry center and as a partner of Sochi 2014 Olympics, a global sports event.
Marcus Ozegovic, Volkswagen Group Rus Director General, said: “Kaluga is the most important region for Volkswagen. Kaluga is a home for the largest Volkswagen production facility in Russia. We also build an engine plant in Kaluga so that we could comply with the provisions of industrial assembly agreement”.
