Kaluga Region delegation visits Harbin to take part in a major international exhibition, China-Russia EXPO 2015.  The visit has proved to be fruitful; a number of cooperation agreements have been signed, and new negotiations are to take place. Chinese partners showed their interest in Kaluga Region experience in the field of infrastructure projects’ implementation.

Andrey Tokarev, Vice President, Logistics, Freight Village RU, is a member of Kaluga Region delegation. He took part in Cooperation in the Field of Integration of the Eurasian Economic Union and Silk Road Economic Belt Development Processes panel discussion.

In his speech Andrey Tokarev focused on the largest logistics project of Kaluga Region, Freight Village. He noted that Freight Village is a key tool for development of logistics on a route connecting East and West.   

Freight Village Vorsino is a major multimodal logistics center of federal importance. If provides integrated transport, forwarding and support services. Freight Village Vorsino  located in the territory of Vorsino industrial park occupies a territory of 600 ha along Moscow – Kiev highway at a 67-km distance from Moscow ring road and at a 20-km distance from New Moscow border.   

Freight Village Vorsino multimodal terminal provides services to air transportation, railway and motor cargo shipping companies. Its railway terminal ensures transshipment of  cargo amounting to 500,000 TEU per annum.

The  freight village concept was developed with the support of the Association of German Freight Villages  (DGG). It provides for construction of warehouses with the total area of over 500,000 sq.m near a major railway terminal. In the future an airport is to be commissioned in a nearby town of Ermolino.  

Over RUR 7 billion has been invested in the project as of today. The site has all necessary utilities.  Class A warehouse facilities with the total area of 48,000 sq.m have already been built, and 80,000 sq.m of such facilities are under construction.
