Kaluga Region at INNOPROM Exhibition: Logistic Hubs and Cooperation Development Prospects

Kaluga Region delegation headed by Vladimir Popov, Deputy Governor, is to take part in the Third Russian-Chinese EXPO on July 11-14, 2016.  The event will be held for the first time in Russia within the framework of the key industrial exhibition of this country, INNOPROM-2016. The Third Russian-Chinese EXPO is a key platform supporting the development and diversification of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and China.

The Russian delegation is headed by Dmitry Ragozin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. The head of the Chinese delegation will be Wang Yang, Vice Premier of the State Council of China.

Kaluga region business agenda includes industry-specific round tables, presentations of the region and companies, events to be attended by representatives of Russian and Chinese industrial companies, as well as b2b business meetings. The exhibition is to demonstrate state-of-the-art industrial and technical developments of Russian and Chinese companies and institutions, acute joint projects, as well as presentations of trade, economic and investment potential of the regions.

Kaluga Region delegation participation in EXPO 2016 is to further promote the development of international cooperation in trade, economic and innovative areas and to strengthen interregional cooperation.

Kaluga Region takes part in New Silk Road for Eurasia, an international logistic project, which meets economic interests of Russia, China and South Korea. It connects Dalyan port at the Yellow Sea with Freight Village Vorsino, Kaluga Region. The route goes through Manchuria to Zabaikalsk and then via Trans-Siberian railway to Vorsino. New Silk Road helped reduce the time of delivery for goods transported from China to the Central Russia and further to Europe and, correspondingly, to China and other Asian countries by three times. The new international transport corridor services are less expensive as compared to other alternative options.  Six container trains have already arrived to Vorsino since the launch of the project in February 2016. It is planned to increase the frequency to 4-6 trains per month.   All customs formalities are completed virtually in no time (less than an hour at average).

On October 14, 2015 Kaluga Region Government delegation attending Russian-Chinese EXPO 2015 in Beijing  signed a memorandum on cooperation with the Chinese Federation of Construction Materials Manufacturers. The parties to the memorandum agreed to develop mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation.
