From the 27th to 29th of January in Schwäbisch Hall (a town in the German state of Baden-Württemberg), a forum of the world market German leaders is being held.  The only participant from the side of the Russian regions by the invitation of the organizers became Kaluga Region. First Deputy Governor, Alexey Laptev presents it.

In the programme of the forum, there is the discussion of acute questions of the national economic development in modern conditions of foreign policy. Within the topic discussion of the cooperation perspectives with Russia, Alexey Laptev presented the economic potential of Kaluga Region.

He paid special attention to the efficiency of the regional system in the investments attraction (including investments from Germany): “For the past years the total volume of German investments into the regional economy made nearly 2 billion USD. The main part of it is connected with the automotive industry. The thing is that in our conditions big production complexes can be easily created.”

Deputy Governor gave examples of the projects of such companies as Volkswagen, Continental and Benteler that are constantly expanding their production. He also positively estimated German investments into the pharmaceutical sector and agribusiness of the region.

Alexey Laptev called food and machine-building industry, electronics production and innovative sphere the most perspective ones to keep on cooperation with. “Kaluga Region is interested in the implementation of new projects, and we are ready to give our partners every help and support”- he summed up.

In the course of this forum, a number of business meetings with the representatives of German companies took place.
