Kaluga scientists will begin the development of the aircraft glass together with the Airbus Group

The cooperation agreement made also foresees the staff training of the Obninsk enterprise at the Airbus Group sites and the partnership in the sphere of the projects commercialization.

“Specialists of the scientific and production enterprise “Tekhnologiya” in the city of Obninsk, Kaluga Region together with the Airbus Group will take up  the development in the sphere of the aircraft glass production. “Airbus group” and “Tekhnologiya” made an agreement on the scientific and technical cooperation.  The document signed confirms mutual interest in collaboration which is aimed to establish strategic partnership relations”, - the said in the Press Service.

The main directions in cooperation are prescribed in the agreement. Among them there is staff training of the Obninsk enterprise at the sites of the Airbus Group, joint scientific and research development in the sphere of the aircraft glass manufacturing and items made of the polymer composite materials production, and also cooperation in the sphere of projects commercialization. The details are confidential. 

“The signing of the agreement with the recognized world leader of the aerospace branch can propel the work of the enterprise to the next technological level.  This cooperation  will significantly enhance the competitive advantages of our product in the international market”, - the Press Service quoted the words of the Director General of the Obninsk Scientific Production Enterprise “Tekhnologiya”, Oleg Komissar.

The Obninsk Scientific Production Enterprise “Tekhnologiya” is a part of the State Corporation “Rostech”’s structure in the membership of the holding company “RT –Chemical Technologies and composite materials”. The main activity direction of these enterprises is to perform scientific research and innovative development projects in the sphere of the creation of new materials, constructions, technologies and mass manufacturing of high technology products for space, aerotechnics, land and water transport. In particular, the company puts out glass for aviation, space and railway equipment. The scientists from Obninsk have produced heat shields and a number of local load carrying structures from polymeric composite materials for the Russian Angara A5 heavy-load rocket, that was successfully launched at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome on the December, 23d, 2014.
