Unique Russian-German project - Kaluga Laser Innovation & Process Center – Multiple-Access Center was launched on December 24 in Obninsk technology city within the frame of Open Day event. The center invited representatives of small innovation companies and scientific teams of Kaluga Region to familiarize with opportunities provided by modern equipment and services.  

Site tour in Kaluga Laser Innovation & Process Center – Multiple-Access Center and RASTR-Technology LLC premises was organized for guests of the Center and opportunities of modern laser equipment were demonstrated, namely – laser cutting and welding of metal and non-metal materials, 3D welding and cutting of plastics with robotized systems.   

Kaluga Laser Center is equipped with laser units, which are used first of all in manufacturing cars, car components, in medicine, metal working, in aviation, ship-building and atomic industry.  

Kaluga Laser Center is oriented in the first place on small and medium business, Evgeny Kulbatsky, Director General of Kaluga Laser Center noted. “The Center is capable within the frame of industrial cooperation with enterprises to develop laser technologies for pattern cutting and welding of metals, plastics and other materials upon orders from enterprises, to adapt laser technologies to specific production requirements, to manufacture small batches of samples,” - Evgeny Kulbatsky added.

It should be noted that the main purpose of Kaluga Laser Innovation & Process Center consists in ensuring cooperation to promote use of laser technologies and modern laser equipment at the enterprises of Kaluga Region.

Since January 2012 Multiple-Access Center for laser process equipment started its operations on the basis of Kaluga Laser Innovation & Process Center. It was established with support of AO “Agency for Innovations Development – Center for Cluster Development of Kaluga Region”.
