Continental Concern Opens New Industrial Facility in Kaluga
On June 5, Continental Automotive Systems RUS LLC held the official opening ceremony for its new plant at the Kaluga South industrial park.
Continental invested EUR 24 million in its newest production facility that will create a total of 100 new jobs by 2016. The plant has the annual capacity to manufacture up to 1 million engine control units, as well as 500,000 fuel modules and 500,000 injector rail systems.
Christian Kogl noted that the company had ambitious plans to expand production in Russia. “We have faith in the Russian market and will keep increasing the level of localization”, he said.
Continental representatives completed their address by thanking the region’s Governor Anatoly Artamonov, the team from the Ministry of Economic Development and the region’s development institutions for their support in the implementation of the project.
