Meschovsk Celebrates Its 775th Anniversary by Signing Cooperation Agreement with Amioun, Lebanon
On July 13, 2013 Kaluga Region Governor Anatoly Artamonov attended the celebrations dedicated to the 400-year anniversary of the Romanov dynasty and the 775-year anniversary of Meschovsk.
Within the framework of the official ceremony Alexander Shilov, the Head of Meschovsk District Municipality, and Jerji Barakat, the Mayor of Amioun (Lebanon) executed the agreement on economic, cultural and social cooperation. Amioun is known as an ancient cultural center of Lebanon, and a place frequently visited by Russian Orthodox Church pilgrims.
