On the 6^th of August the Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation Mikhail Men payed a working visit to Kaluga Region. The head of construction industry in Russia familiarized himself with the execution of a rental housing project in the settlement «Olympic village» (Obninsk), examined the microdistrict «Koshelev project» and the site of «Gubernskiy» park in the regional centre.

Estimating Kaluga Region experience, the head of the Ministry of construction mentioned that in the region the scheme, when rental housing exists as a unified project, which has economic payback, really functions. In his turn, the temporarily in charge Governor of Kaluga Region Anatoly Artamonov emphasized that not less than 30% of housing, which is taken into use, should be rental.

Later in the day, Anatoly Artamonov and Mikhail Men visited «Koshelev project». Housing of this district belongs to the economy class. The total area of housing development is more than 120 hectares. The planned volume of housing is more than 420 000 m². The project stipulates the creation of social infrastructure: a shopping and entertainment centre, administration and office buildings, post offices, banks, parking garages, corner stores, and four kindergartens for 350 children each one.

The Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation Mikhail Men took a favourable view of not only the efficient character of the introduction of housing into use, but also its quality.

The temporarily in charge Governor of Kaluga Region Anatoly Artamonov pointed out at the growth of the introduction of housing into use in Kaluga Region.

«Last year in the region about 800 000 m² of housing were taken into use. Even in the late eighties a little more than 500 thousand square meters were built. But we should build a bit more and we will necessarily do it» - he summarized.
