Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Kalugaputmash JSC Signed a Supply Agreement to India

Kalugaputmash JSC (an enterprise of the Sinara-Transport Machines Holding) and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation signed a Competitiveness Enhancement Program Agreement. The aim of the program is to ensure that the conditions of the project for the production and supply of track machines to the Republic of India are met.

Concluding the agreement will allow Sinara-Transport Machines Holding to have a number of advantages, including possible borrowing of credit funds 4.5% lower than the base rates in any commercial bank approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. The operative agreement substantially speeds up the process of certification and homologation of products in foreign markets, allowing enterprises participating in the program to undergo these procedures ahead of the others. The document is valid for one year.

The agreement applies to the implementation of the contract concluded with Indian Railways in 2020, whereunder the company undertakes to supply one prototype and 18 serial BRM-01 assembly kits. This equipment will further be used to produce RPB-type track machines (distribution block, ballast leveling machine), which is designed for planning and redistributing recent or reclaimed, non-frozen ballast in construction, and for all types of repairs and routine maintenance of the railway line. Finished products will be assembled on the territory of the Republic of India, in accordance with the provisions of the Make in India national initiative, which assumes at least 50% local products. The project will be implemented during 2022–2023.
