Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Produced in Kaluga
According to Mitsubishi official news release, the serial production of Mitsubishi Pajero Sport off-roader started at Kaluga plant of PSMA Rus OOO in Rosva industrial park. PSMA Rus OOO is a joint venture of PSA Peugeot Citroen and Mitsubishi.
The news release says that full cycle production mode will be applied at Kaluga plant to manufacture Mitsubishi Pajero Sport model. Such a production mode includes welding and painting of car bodies. Apart from that the company also plans to increase the degree of localization in the course of Mitsubishi Pajero Sport production.
Mitsubishi plans to ensure higher sales through increased localization of production processes. Currently the model is offered to Russian customers with 2.5l (178 h.p.) diesel engine and 3.0l (222 h.p.) gasoline engine at a price starting from RUR 1,299,000.
It is worth mentioning that full cycle production of Mitsubishi Outlander crossover model began in Kaluga in November 2012.
