Vitaly Mutko, the Minister for Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation, paid a work visit to Kaluga Region on March 1, 2013.

On that day Anatoly Artamonov and Vitaly Mutko took part in the extended collegial session dedicated to the results of Kaluga Region Ministry for Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy work in 2012 and key objectives for the near future.

The attendees noted that in 2012 Kaluga Region continued its efforts on the tourism potential development. An agreement on cooperation with the Federal Agency for Tourism was concluded within the framework of Kaluga Discovery II Kaluga Tourism Forum. Over RUR 68 million was invested in financing of municipal programs for development of inbound and outbound tourism. Currently 120 agro tourism facilities exist in Kaluga Region with the annual capacity of over 70,000 guests. Kaluga Region received a gold medal and a diploma for agro tourism development at 2012 Agro Tourism in Russia Forum.

On the same day Vitaly Mutko, the Minister for Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation, and governor Anatoly Artamonov signed an agreement between Kaluga Region government and the Ministry for Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation on cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports development. The construction of physical culture and health facilities, repair of sports schools, reconstruction of stadiums and sports grounds will continue under the said agreement.
