An official ceremony dedicated to commissioning of Continental Kaluga OOO plant manufacturing tires for LCVs and cars took place in Rosva Industrial Park on October 29, 2013. Kaluga Region Governor Anatoly Artamonov, Georgy Rotov, Continental Kaluga OOO Director General, Nikolay Zettser, Head of Tire Division and a Member of the Board of  Continental, delivered speeches at the ceremony.  

The total amount of investments in the project equaled EUR 240 million. The plant is to employ 800 people by 2015. Its initial production capacity is 4 million tires per annum. At a later stage the plant is to produce 16 million tires annually.  

Nikolay Zettser said: “Continental has been operating in the Russian market for 110 years. Today Kaluga plant is the most modern Continental production facility in the world. The project has been implemented within a remarkably short period of time”. On behalf of Continental Board of Directors Nikolay Zettser expressed deep gratitude to Kaluga Region Government and partners for their assistance. He said: “Our American colleagues were very impressed by our results and they named Kaluga project the most successful one”.
