On the 27th of May the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania in the Russian Federation Remigius Motuzuas visited Kaluga Region with a business trip. The object of the visit is studying Kaluga region experience in the sphere of investment promotion and of the creation of new high-technology industries, and the discussion of possible directions of collaboration.
In the course of the meeting with the first deputy governor of Kaluga region Alexey Laptev the social and economic potential of Kaluga region was represented, in particular the issue was an industrial infrastructure, a logistical system and priority development fields.
The ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania also expressed his interest in the economic and cultural cooperation of Lithuania and Kaluga region. «I’m sure that the companies, members of the delegation, have already reached certain agreements with the region», - Remigius Motuzuas marked.

In 2014 the total trade of Kaluga region and Lithuania came to 17,6 million dollars, including export – 7,37 million dollars (has increased to 5,9%), import – 10,2 million dollars.
Based on the results of the first quarter of 2015 the total trade of Kaluga region and Lithuania came to 2,7 million dollars.
