Kaluga Region Included in Innovative Regions’ Rating Top 5
On October 31, 2014 the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia published an updated innovative regions’ rating. Kaluga Region holds the 5th place in this rating (6 points up as compared to 2013 rating).
According to the authors of the updated rating Kaluga Region has demonstrated the best performance among all other Association of Innovative Regions of Russia members.
Kaluga Region holds the leading positions in terms of the following: the share of hi-tech and science-intensive products in GRP, the number of created innovative production technologies/economically active population ratio, R&D spendings/GRP ratio. Kaluga Region demonstrated the most radical improvements in the following areas: share of business investments in total R&D costs and the share of companies implementing non-technology innovations.
