The status of Kaluga industrial special economic zone residents was assigned to three companies, namely Karandashnaya Fabrika Krasina OOO (Krasin Pencil Factory OOO), Ekologicheskiy Domostroitelny Kombinat Lyudinovo OOO (Lyudinovo Environmental House Building Plant OOO), VODOSTOP OOO, upon resolution of the expert council under the Ministry of Economy of the Russian Federation.  The total amount of investments in the companies’ projects equals RUR 4.7 billion. Over 1,000 new jobs will be created.

Kaluga special economic zone has two sites located in Lyudinovo district and Borovsk district, Kaluga Region. It if the closest industrial site of its kind to Moscow.  The total area of the special economic zone equals 1,042 ha. The SEZ residents enjoy all benefits related to engineering, transport and business infrastructure availability.  Apart from that, they also get access to various federal and regional tax benefits and customs preferences. The industrial development of Kaluga SEZ is to allow to modernize the industry of Kaluga Region southern and northern territories and to create preconditions for development on hi-tech industry sectors. 

Krasin Pencil Factory OOO produces stationery. The list of its customers includes the Presidential Administration, the Government of the Russian Federation and the State Duma, major Russian and global companies as well as school and pre-school educational institutions. The company takes part in the Federal Program for Top Priority Children’s Goods Industry Investment Projects (No. 1203 of June 24, 2014).  Apart from that the company also takes part in the national program to promote Russian products and servicers for children (The Best for Children). The key objective of the program is to improve the quality of goods and services intended for children and teenagers.  

Ekologicheskiy Domostroitelny Kombinat Lyudinovo OOO is the first resource saving house building production facility in Russia using timber deep processing technology (soft-wooded broad-leaved and low quality species) The project provides for construction of a state-of-the-art house building plant to produce structures for residential and public buildings (low-rise construction) of fiberboard.

VODOSTOP OOO is a plant manufacturing parquet flooring of superlight composite materials. This is a water-resistant flooring visually indistinguishable from laminated or natural parquet. It is 100% water resistant. It can be used for heat insulated floors. Apart from that its sound insulation parameters are better than those of the laminated flooring by  42%.
