Military and Patriotic Fostering Center to Be Built in Kaluga Region
On June 7, 2013 Anatoly Artamonov, Kaluga Region Governor, Sergey Maev, Chairman of the Central Council of DOSAAF (Voluntary Association for Support of Army, Air Force and Navy), and investor Vadim Zadorozhny signed an agreement on cooperation to implement an investment project associated with establishment of DOSAAF and Vadim Zadorozhny Historical Military Equipment Center.
The center is to be opened in Medyn flight training school within the framework of Domestic and Foreign Tourism Development in Kaluga Region 2011-2016 long-term target program as a public-private partnership. The organizers plan to demonstrate Soviet military hardware and equipment – aircraft, helicopters, Katyusha MLRSs, etc. Apart from that the runways will be used for military games, parades, festivals dedicated to memorial events of Russian and world history. The scope of investments will be about RUR450 million, approximately 300 new jobs will be created.
