On the 22^nd of July one of the leading Russian food store companies X5 Retail Group and the group of companies Freight Village RU signed an agreement on the cooperation in the location of a distributing centre of the retail chain “Pyaterochka” in the territory of the logistics complex Freight Village Vorsino.

The trading company has intentions to rent one of the facilities of the complex with the area near 39 thousand square metres for the future 10 years. Here there will be organized a warehouse to keep products and a zone with the low-temperature duty.

This modern logistics centre which is created in the territory of the industrial park “Vorsino” is an important constituent part of the transport and logistic cluster of Kaluga Region. Its format of a “freight village” is a unique project for Russia. It foresees a maximally full complex of services on goods keeping and processing.

According to the words of the first Deputy Governor of the Region, Alexey Laptev, “such complexes as Freight Village Vorsino are themselves the sites for new investments attraction. The agreement with the X5 Retail Group is the continuation of the plan implementation on the creation of a wholesale and distributing centres net at the border with New Moscow. According to this plan these centres will work to meet the needs of the whole Central Federal District.” He also underlined that  “the development of the logistics cluster is a part of the long-term investment strategy of Kaluga Region. More  than 10 large industrial production facilities are opened annually, the volumes of the agricultural production are also growing.  For 7 years the regional goods turnover  has increased in 25 times That is why we purposefully develop multimodal logistics complexes of a modern format of “freight village”.
