Volkswagen Kaluga Plant Manufactured the 600,000th Car
Volkswagen Group Rus OOO Kaluga Plant celebrates two major milestones events simultaneously – the production of the 600,000th car and the production of the 400,000 car assembled in full-cycle mode.
Volkswagen Tiguan of Blue Acapulco Metallic color became the 600,000th car produced by Kaluga plant. The car has a 2.0l engine, 4MOTION 4x4 transmission, RNS 315 navigation system and a rear-view camera.
Another important milestone for Volkswagen Kaluga plant is the production of the 400,000 car in full-cycle mode. It was a white ŠKODA Fabia with a 1.6l engine and a manual gearbox.
Marcus Osegovic, Volkswagen Group Rus CEO said: “The increase in the degree of localization is a part of Volkswagen development strategy in Russia. The production of the 600,000 car in Kaluga clearly demonstrates its success. The next logical step will be the construction and commissioning of a new engine plant”.
