“We recommend Kaluga Region to all our businesses” - Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey

On March 28, 2013 a delegation from Turkey paid a working visit to Kaluga Region. The delegation was headed by Aydin Sezgin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey in the Russian Federation.

At the official meeting with Anatoly Artamonov and representatives of the region’s administration, Aydin Sezgin said: “According to our estimates, Kaluga Region is a successfully developing region. As the relations between Turkey and Russia improves, Turkish businessmen will be paying more attention to the region, and this attention will bring significant economic benefits not only for Kaluga Region, but for cooperation between Russia and Turkey in general”.

Members of the Turkish delegation expressed their intention to cooperate not only in the construction sphere, but also in the region’s automobile segment.

In response, the head of the region noted that many Turkish construction companies were active in the region. He gave a high appraisal to the work of Renaissance, which was building the Lafarge cement plant. “Many of the region’s enterprises were built by Turkish companies. Their work is high quality and, generally, the deadlines are met”, commented Anatoly Artamonov.

In 2012, Kaluga Region’s trade turnover with Turkey was USD 15 million (an increase of 17.3%  against  2011). Export– USD 563,700 (an increase of 13.3% against 2011), import –USD 14.45 million (an increase of 17.5% against 2011).
