On December 11, 2012 Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, paid a working visit to Kaluga Region.

Dmitry Medvedev accompanied by Anatoly Artamonov, Kaluga Region Governor,  visited Volkswagen Group Rus OOO automotive production facility in Grabtsevo Industrial Park and attended an official groundbreaking ceremony  at Volkswagen AG engine plant site.

The Prime Minister congratulated  Anatoly Artamonov on commencement of a new major investment project implementation in Kaluga Region.  He highly praised the Kaluga region Government endeavors in the field of investments attraction to the region and noted that the new plant would bring new jobs and modern industrial culture.   

Anatoly Artamonov spoke of Kaluga Region experience in the field of industrial parks development in the region mentioning the fact that creation of the industrial park "helped investors resolve issues".  He also noted that new investments helped create 22,000 new jobs and the fiscal capacity per capita in the region grew by three times.
