The Federal Agency for Railway Transport provided its approval for Promyshlennaya Railway Station  commissioning.

On February 11, 2013 the first train delivering scrap for the metallurgical plant main process equipment hot testing was unloaded at the station.

The 21-km railway network is an element of NLMK-Kaluga facility infrastructure. The railway connects the production facility with Vorsino railway station (Moscow Railways) located at a 1.5 km distance. Promyshlennaya railway station has a capacity of 3 55-wagon trains with the weight rating of up to 4,000 t. The new railway station is to handle raw materials (metal scrap) as well as finished products to be delivered by trains. The station will be able to handle cargoes intended for all Vorsino industrial park residents.

Modern rolling stock control and monitoring systems are used to improve efficiency and safety of cargo transportation and to cut time required to prepare wagons for loading.
