Investment project to build a plant manufacturing corrugated board and packaging materials operated by Stora Enso Packaging BB was successfully implemented in Balabanovo, Kaluga Region, with participation of Stora Enso Oy (Finland) in 1997.

Currently, 330 persons work at the plant.

The Company products is used not only as transportation packaging, but also for SRP boxes (self-ready packaging), ready to be placed directly onto shelves. Such boxes substantially simplify merchandizing and enhance advertising possibilities of manufacturers.  Thanks to extensive experience of designers, Stora Enso is expert in development of retail-oriented solutions both in food and non-food segments of the market.  

Official ceremony dedicated to 20th anniversary of operations of Stora Enso Packaging in the region took place on 09.06.2017

  • Production capacity of Stora Enso Packaging increased four-fold over 20 years, staff was increased up to 330 persons, and various  prizes were awarded many times to its products.
  • New production line was launched in 2016 at the Kaluga plant in Balabanovo.
  • According to corporate data, in 2016 every third TV set in Russia was packed in the packaging produced by  Stora Enso Packaging. 
  • Slim corrugated board (N-flute) is a unique product developed by the Company, its thickness is only 0.7 mm, but it substantially surpasses any consumer cardboard by its  strength properties.
