Avtomatika Consolidated Group Develops Server Power Supply Sources Based on the Titan Digital Firmware Platform

KalugaPribor AO in cooperation with KAMZ AO, a division of the Avtomatika Consolidated Group of the Rostec State Corporation, started development of high-energy secondary power supply sources for various server and telecommunication equipment.

These sources will be provided with full digital control, which will be advantageous both for energy-efficiency of the product across the entire load range, and its production costs; application of the firmware platform will allow to unify the whole product line and speed up their development and implementation.

In accordance with the enacted Russian legislative package On the Combating of Terrorism, communications and information storage providers must store big volumes of data in the special data storage systems (DSS), entered in the Unified Register of the Russian Radio-Electronic Equipment. In addition, according to RF Government Regulation No. 719, requirements to the level of product and solutions localization, applied to DSS, become more and more stringent.

Avtomatika’s power sources are developed in compliance with the modern international requirements; in particular, they have at least Platinum energy efficiency class (according to 80 Plus standard), provide for redundancy protection and hot swapping, remote control of parameters, emergency logging, overvoltage and overheat protection.

“One of the most important components of a DSS is the power source, and today we do not have domestic equivalents of such devices. Besides, the number of industries, which are in need for storage and processing of big data, is constantly rising, together with the share of consumers which uses this kind of equipment. Our Kaluga’s power supply sources based on the Titan digital firmware platform can fill this niche. Vladimir Kabanov, General Director of Avtomatika, says, “We already have advance orders from some big companies, operating processing and data storage systems”.

In 2021, the Avtomatika Consolidated Group conducts design and development works, requested for application of domestic hardware components to comply with RF Government Regulation No. 719 of 17.07.2015 On Confirmation of Manufacturing of Industrial Products within the territory of the Russian Federation. By 2022, the Group plans to enter production and provide first shipping of the ready products to its partners.
