Arkhangelsk Pulp & Paper Mill will open its second plant in the Kaluga Region

On July 22, the Government of the Kagula Region and Arkhbum-Pack LLC signed the agreement on the investment project realization for the construction of a consumer packaging plant, which will be located on Borovsky site of the Kaluga Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The corresponding document was signed by Vladislav Shapsha, the Acting Governor of the Kaluga Region, and Irina Galakhova, The CEO of Arkhbum-Pack LLC.

The agreement provides for the construction of a consumer packaging plant, including eco-friendly paper bags, on the territory of the Kaluga Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the Borovsky municipal district.

The initiator of the project is Arkhangelsk Pulp & Paper Mill JSC, being the largest manufacturer of cardboard, packaging, pulp and notebooks in Russia. The planned amount of investment in the project will be about RUB 2 bln. The number of new working places created will amount to 200. It’s the Company’s second project in the Region. The official opening of the factory for the production of sanitary and hygiene products “Arkhum Tissue Group" will soon take place in Vorsino Industrial Park.

Vladislav Shapsha noted the importance of this project implementation: “The Company plans to build a factory for the production of consumer packaging. Paper bags and tableware that will be produced at this site are going to be an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic analogues”.

After positively assessing the investment climate created in the Region, Irina Galakhova shared the Company's plans: "One project has already been implemented on the territory of Vorsino Industrial Park. It’s a plant for the production of sanitary and hygiene products. Now, we are going to launch the second stage of production at the same site. In addition, the shareholders decided to build a factory for the production of consumer packaging, such as paper bags and disposable paper tableware. Market trends demand for production of paper packaging as an alternative to plastic. These products will be of great popularity in the near future."
