Vorobi Bird Park

The first Russian bird park, Vorob'i, is located in Zhukov District, Kaluga Region, 20 km from Obninsk on the banks of the Istia. This is a perfect place for family outings, especially for families with children. Over 200 species of birds from around the globe live there, including vultures, forest birds, poultry, water birds, and various exotic birds.

Apart from birds, various animals live in a small zoo, including a donkey, a bull, goats and sheep. Tourists may take pictures with rare birds, visit an ostrich farm, and take a ride on a pony or a horse (on weekends). Active sports lovers can spend some quality time in Berkut paintball club. In winter time visitors can engage in tubing on an ice-coated hill. Each April the Bird Park holds celebrations of International Bird Day.
